Hannover exhibition venue

Trade fairs at the Hannover exhibition grounds

An overview of events for which we regularly build stands, with practical points to consider during installation.

HANNOVER MESSE

5–8 April 2027

Industry, automation, energy and supply

The largest industrial trade fair at the venue. Freight forwarders and installation teams are in very high demand, so an early start has a major effect on availability and cost.

LIGNA

10–14 May 2027

Woodworking and wood processing

Many exhibitors bring large machinery. Ceiling loads, positioning and the delivery sequence need to be coordinated with stand installation at an early stage.

AGRITECHNICA

14–20 November 2027

Agricultural machinery

Very large exhibits and a long event duration make close coordination between stand construction and exhibit logistics particularly relevant.

DOMOTEX

annually in January

Floor coverings and carpets

Materials and lighting take centre stage. The stand design determines how visitors perceive the products.

EMO Hannover

every two years

Metalworking and machine tools

Heavy machinery, high power demand and extraction systems make electrical planning and utility orders particularly relevant.

IAA Transportation

every two years in September

Commercial vehicles and logistics

Large open areas and vehicle presentations require early planning for access, manoeuvring areas and platforms.

Dates are provided without guarantee. Please consult the official website of each event for binding information.

International exhibitors

A significant proportion of exhibitors in Hannover travel from abroad. Subject to prior arrangement, we can handle tasks that are difficult to manage remotely: coordinating with the organiser, ordering utility connections, sourcing furniture and technology locally and installing the stand.

If you already work with a stand builder or agency in your home country, we can implement their design and coordinate directly with them. Find out more about our full-service exhibition stands.

Frequently asked questions about Hannover’s exhibition venue

How large is the Hannover exhibition grounds?

The venue has around 400,000 square metres of covered hall space as well as extensive outdoor areas, making it one of the largest exhibition centres in the world.

When should stand construction for a trade fair in Hannover be commissioned?

Capacity for the major trade fairs is booked several months in advance. It is advisable to begin as soon as your stand space is confirmed, ideally three to six months before the event.

How is the exhibition venue organised?

The site consists of halls with different sizes and heights, extensive outdoor areas and the Convention Center for congresses and smaller specialist events. Your assigned hall affects permitted construction heights, ceiling loads and delivery routes.

What should exhibitors know about deliveries and site access?

Hall access during installation and dismantling is managed through time slots. Deliveries, unloading and the use of forklifts, cranes or access platforms are coordinated with the authorised on-site freight forwarder.

Which technical rules apply to exhibition stands?

Deutsche Messe’s Technical Regulations cover matters including construction heights, fire safety, escape routes, ceiling loads and the registration of multi-storey structures. The precise requirements depend on the event and are checked for each project.

Who handles stand registration?

On request, we can support coordination with the organiser and submit project-related documents. Additional evidence or applications depend on the structure and the rules of the relevant event.
